Collateral 4.1 is the first chapter of Collateral. The Chauffeur fulfills his duties, and Blake gets to rest a bit with some friends.
Plot[]
Blake is startled awake by a Chauffeur as they are approaching his apartment. As part of the agreement, the Lawyer informs Blake that he has to meet with the Lord of Toronto, Conquest, and offer him a token gift. They talk a bit more about what Conquest and Incarnations are before finally arriving back at Blake's home. Heading inside, the Lawyer suggests Blake set up certain barriers. He gives Blake a book titled Black Lamb's Blood and an written errand as payment for the supplies, ride, safety, arrangements and whatever the next deal will be.
Whilst Blake was setting up the wards, Joel comes to check up on him. Joel tells him everyone is worried for him, and asks if it's okay to bring them to talk. Blake says yes, then resumes cleaning and setting up the defenses. We get brief descriptions of Blake's friends as they arrive. Rose admits to being jealous. When all the guests have arrived, Blake explains his situation to them. Everyone offers their condolences and support. Alexis head out to the balcony to smoke; Blake follows. They have an intimate talk about Tiffany, their past, and their attraction to each other. Blake returns inside to see Rose point there's something wrong. One of the guests turns out to be Conquest's messenger, yet no one seems to notice he's there. The messenger informs Blake it's time for the meeting.
